Bring your vision to life in Tulare County

Mooney Grove Park, located at 27000 S. Mooney Blvd. in Visalia, California, is a cherished 100-acre green space steeped in history and natural beauty. Established in 1909, it holds the distinction of being California’s first county park, created to preserve the region’s majestic valley oak forest.

The park offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors of all ages. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy walking trails shaded by ancient oaks, while families can take advantage of picnic areas, playgrounds, and a lagoon stocked with trout for fishing.

A highlight of the park is the Tulare County Museum, which houses one of the largest Native American basket collections in California, as well as exhibits on pioneer life and agricultural history. The museum complex includes the outdoor Pioneer Village and the History of Farm Labor and Agriculture Museum, offering insights into the diverse cultures that have shaped the region.

Art and history enthusiasts will appreciate the bronze replica of James Earle Fraser’s iconic "End of the Trail" statue, a poignant tribute to Native American heritage.

For recreation, the park features two 18-hole disc golf courses, a dog park, horseshoe pits, and open spaces for various sports and activities. Covered picnic areas are available for reservation, making it an ideal spot for gatherings and events.
